CAM-ASEAN English Department with its two programs: General English Program and Business English Program strive to equip students with language skills, technological skills, professional communication skills and etiquettes. Brought to our attention that English is the global language of communication, and has become a major requirement in the job market, we believe that all students should improve their oral and written communication skill in English in order to be able to compete in the highly competitive job market in Cambodia and the ASEAN Region. To accomplish this, the Department has constantly worked on highly-designed curriculum that brings out active learning strategy in our students. All the four pillars of language learning – listening, speaking, reading and writing – are integrated in our course delivery to ensure that there is a balanced development of language skills. Moreover, our students are encouraged to communicate only in English while on campus. Students’ creative talents are also identified and enhanced through personal consultations, study tours, field trips, and English Club activities. Discussion forums, debates and presentations are organized as part of our club activities to give the students a platform to express their ideas and project their talents and skills. Special emphasis is laid on maintaining an excellent rapport with the students through interaction and advising, which in turn serves to inspire them to aim for the best.
