
Deputy Head of English Department

Job Descriptions:
** High Priority 1. Prepare strategic plan, operational plan, and action plan for English Department 2. Ensure the quality of English programs and curriculum development 3. Oversee and provide advice and consultation to Division Heads of Teacher Affairs, Student Affairs, Academic Officer. 4. Recruit and reserve teachers with proper procedure (job advertisement, shortlist, calling, interview, teaching demonstration, contract, and probation) 5. Interview students and place them into the right levels 6. Provide counseling (students, teachers, English department staff) Job 7. Ensure a smooth process of examination (placement test, midterm test, final test, supplementary test, scholarship test, and others) 8. Ensure a smooth process of all the events planned in each term (competitions, workshops, seminars graduation ceremony, field trip, and others) 9. Prepare a class schedule every term 10. Host regular meetings with the subordinates. 11. Public relations 12. Present outstanding awards to students and teachers 13. Issue memorandum 14. Check and verify timesheets of both foreign and Khmer teachers 15. Prepare a monthly report ** Middle Priority 16. Prepare reports on all affairs in the English Dept. (attendance record of teachers and students, achievement of action plan, daily activities, class observation, teaching assessment, teacher’s issues, etc.) 17. Conduct a class observation if necessary 18. Report on classroom conditions to Administration Department 19. Check and verify student attendance in the system 20. Check and verify teacher attendance in the system 21. Find substitute teachers if need be 22. Teach as a substitute teacher if need be ** Low Priority 23. Promote CAM-ASEAN’s products 24. Attend all meetings required by the organization 25. Cooperate with other departments 26. Perform other relevant and assigned tasks if need be
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field - Two or Three years’ experience in school branch management - Enthusiastic, hard-working and resilient. - Calm, flexible, approachable attitude. - Exhibit confidence with humility. - Ability to work under pressure, on own initiative, accurately and with attention to detail - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Good organizational and time management skills - A strong desire to work in a team and deal with the challenge - Excellent negotiation and internal & external relationship building - Computer literacy and English language proficiency
